Prioritizing tasks saves time while avoiding to miss deadlines, it is because when you learn to prioritize tasks, you are able to accomplish these tasks on time and with great quality.
We only have 24hours a day, and only seven days a week. As a freelancer, we have a lot of important tasks to accomplish, and sometimes, we don’t know how to handle these tasks and end up stressed and crammed.
We want to share with you these three tips in order to help you prioritize tasks so that you will be on top of your business.

1. Create a “Master to-do list” of all your tasks
Yes, storing important things inside your brain is good, however, writing it down with pen and paper is better because there are times that we can not rely on the power of our memory, we tend to forget things. Most of the time, we forget because we have a lot on our lists and we wanted to cater all at the same time which is impossible to do.
To prioritize tasks, all you need to do is to put into writing everything you think is possible to get done in a day. Include the deadlines of your tasks and break the big tasks into smaller “do-able” tasks. Also, make sure to put on top the most important tasks.
2. Focus on what’s important rather than what’s urgent
According to Dwight Eisenhower, the 34th US President, “What is important is seldom urgent, what is urgent is seldom important,” this implies the different values of the two types of tasks.
In prioritizing your tasks, you should break important tasks into smaller tasks and set deadlines for each task. To be able to gain competitiveness, you need to learn to prioritize important tasks, break it into smaller ones, and make it urgent in order to be accomplished first because important tasks carry the highest value, and it will bring you on top of your business.
